WALK OUT ON THURSDAY, OCTOBER 4TH AT 12PM. DAVIS CENTER GREEN OUTSIDE 1ST FLOOR, UVM

This week, Brett Kavanaugh could be confirmed as the next U.S. Supreme Court Justice. We can’t let that happen.

Brett Kavanaugh is a sexual predator. He stands against abortion rights, rights of queer people and people of color, unions, immigrants, and just about every oppressed community in the U.S. today. The culture that created Brett Kavanaugh exists here, too. The time has come for that culture to be addressed and gutted.

We believe Dr. Christine Blasey Ford. We stand with Anita Hill. The people in power do not. We will hold them accountable. We will make sure that they do not drown out voices of dissent and courage. The only way to do this is to come together, as universities across the country are.

Now is the time for students, faculty, and community to stand up and speak out.

Walk out of classes. Walk out of work. Cancel Kavanaugh.

We encourage all members of the community beyond just the University to turn out and show that we will not stand for this!

150 UVM professors have signed a letter opposing the Kavanaugh nomination.

The event is currently endorsed by the following groups: UVM International Socialist Organization, Women’s March Vermont, UVM Young Progressives, UVM Planned Parenthood Generation Action, Feminists Against Bullshit, Vermont Peace and Justice Center, Burlington Vermont Progressives, UVM Queer Student Alliance, and Democratic Socialists of America.

We will continue to update as the list grows and please reach out if a group you are in would like to get involved!
