The Peace & Justice Center, located in Burlington, Vermont, has been in the process this past year of transitioning to a horizontal, collaborative, consent-based organizational structure. We are excited to hire a third part-time Co-director who will work with the two current Co-directors (Kason & Fenix) to lead this statewide organization. We originate our own projects and also work in coalition with other local organizations on mission-aligned projects. Some of our main collaborators at the moment are FreeHer, Community Resilience Organizations, and the VT Racial Justice Alliance. We also fiscally sponsor 25 organizations throughout VT.

The new part-time Co-director will collaborate with Kason & Fenix to create some absolutely essential redundancy within the organization. This position will start at 20 hours per week with potential for growth as we rebuild capacity. The position will be mostly remote, depending on your location, with the expectation that you will be facilitating in-person programming in whatever region you are based. You must be located in Vermont.

The new part-time Co-director will negotiate their specific accountabilities in collaboration with Kason and Fenix. Most tasks will be managed and worked on collaboratively. In addition to tasks necessary for redundancy, you will have the freedom to bring your unique offering to the organization, so long as it is aligned with our mission and vision, which we have clarified this past year. All three co-directors will participate directly in public programming- the essential offering of PJC.

Our Mission: We use education, advocacy, and activism to advance the interconnected issues of human rights and economic, social, and environmental justice. We seek true and meaningful peace within and beyond Vermont.

Please explore our vision in detail and consider how you want to participate in bringing it to life before you apply:
